MEMORY GARDEN Begin Recording New Album
October 17, 2003Stockholm, Sweden's MEMORY GARDEN, the band featuring former ABSKTRAKT ALGEBRA guitarist Simon Johansson, have commenced the recording sessions for their new album, "Carnage Carnival", for an early 2004 release through an as-yet-undetermined label. "Some of the recording will take place in our own studio Annoying Sound Factory and some of it in [producer] Mike [Wead]'s studio Solna Sound Lab," Johansson writes on the band's web site.
"All the drums and rhythm guitars is done and while Mike is away [playing guitar] on the 'Puppet Master' US tour with KING DIAMOND, I will record the bass guitars together with Ken and also get going on some of the harmony guitars. We'll see if Mike approves of the result or if we'll get a taste of the whip when he is back..:)
"I can also inform you that there have been some progress on the [upcoming seven-inch vinyl] single, what still remains to get ready is the cover. We have a couple of samples and as soon as that is ready it will be sent to print [for release through the band's own Heathendoom Music label]. We will post the release date [on our web site] as soon as it is set.
"The songs recorded [for the single] are called 'Nameless' and 'Marion' and everyone into our old stuff will definitely find this exciting."
The follow-up to 2000's "Mirage", "Carnage Carnival", will mark MEMORY GARDEN's first CD since their split with Metal Blade Records early last year. Among the tracks set to appear on the album are "Beggars Anthem" (mp3),"Another Night" (mp3),"Endless Fears" (mp3),"Carnage Carnival" (mp3),"The Bitter End" (mp3) and "Dominion" (mp3).
